Live Guest Illustration Service

A memorable wedding favour for all your guests to treasure your special day by.

The artist will capture the spirit of your wedding by creating live illustrations of your guests in real time. This unique experience adds an artistic and interactive touch to your celebration, allowing guests to take home a personalized keepsake from your special day.

How it works

  • When guests approach the live art table, Liz or the painter’s assistant takes a photo of the guest for reference, and let them know the painting will be painted during the event and they can pick it up at the end of the event (later in the evening)

  • The artist will work off the photo reference to draw and paint your portrait in watercolour. Each portrait is painted on high quality 5×7” watercolour paper. It take 4-6 minutes on average per person and can fit uptown 4 people in 1 painting.

  • Once the portraits are completed, Liz will package it up in a plastic sleeve for the guests. They can return to the table to pick up their personalized art- a memorable keepsake from your special day!

Live Painting Details

  • Medium: alcohol markers, watercolour paint, High quality 5”x7” watercolour paper and protective sleeve.

  • Style of painting: Minimal illustrative style with focus on realistic proportions, natural poses and capturing the details of the outfit!

  • Set-up: The artist will provide their materials and setup including lights, paints, brushes, and papers. A table and two chairs should be provided by the venue.

  • Additional hours on site will be $300/ hour.

  • Additional illustrations can be created after the wedding + shipped to the newlyweds to distribute for an additional fee.

    • Large celebrations with an on-site ceremony, cocktail hour, reception

Travel Fee

Areas outside Calgary over an hour away such as Banff, Canmore, Lethbridge and beyond will require an additional cost of travel fee + accommodation for the night of the event.

The Travel fee will depend on the round trip distance (km) and gas per litre.

I am open to traveling beyond Alberta. A custom quote will be provided.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I can finish drawing and painting each individual in 4-6 minutes, depending on how detailed or complex the outfit is.

  • If perchance you plan to have a big wedding that requires more number of guests than what my packages state, you can add on a “After Wedding Guest Illustration service” so while I won’t be able to finish painting everyone on-site, we will still take photo references of the guests and I will bring them to my studio after the wedding to finish the rest, and no guest will be left behind without their keepsake.

  • I can fit up to 4 guests in a portrait. For couple/family/group portraits please note there will only be one copy. To accommodate as many guests as possible, couples and families posing together for one portrait is encouraged.
